Lehigh Valley League
This is a competitive/travel league. Teams in the league represent the best in
their softball organization. Pitching is usually fast and accurate. Defenses are
competent. Tryouts are required depending on the number of girls who sign-up in
each age bracket. Independent observers (coaches and/or NYAA officials) will
select players based on ability. The head coach, based on ability and
performance during practice sessions, will assign field positions. JV and
varsity high school players are allowed to play in the Lehigh Valley League, but
they must wait until their high school season is over before participating. All
girls trying out for a LVL team are guaranteed a spot on a Parkland League team
as long as one is available in that age group.
Parkland League
This is a recreational league. Competition, while not as intense as the LVL, is
still a big component of the league. This is more of a fun league, and tryouts
are not permitted. The head coach based on ability and performance of players
during practice sessions will assign field positions. If you are a member of a
tournament travel team, such as the Flames, you cannot participate in this
league. JV and varsity high school players are allowed to play in the Parkland
League. High school players must obtain permission from their school coach
before participating.
We will attempt to fill each age group in each league, but we may have to
monitor and adjust based on numbers.
The preps program is for girls with little or no softball experience. This is an
instructional league with no umpires and no live pitching until later in the
season.
Coaching /Volunteer Opportunities
The goal is to keep the numbers of players per team to a lower level than in the
past. This will require a greater amount of coaches and volunteers to do a
variety of tasks. For those interested in coaching, once the initial sign-up is
complete we will have an informational meeting for organizational purposes. In
addition, we will need to establish dates for coaching clinics and running
tryouts. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me at
